Sustainability is not a marketing slogan for us — it is the guiding principle behind our everyday decisions and production processes.
Our approach
Why does it matter
to us?
The clothing industry is one of the most polluting in the world. We cannot change everyone, but we can change our own processes.
Local materials
We source all materials from within Hungary. This reduces material-sourcing transport emissions by 90% compared to overseas sourcing. It also provides direct oversight of production conditions.
Waste reduction
Through precise pattern making and digital design, our material waste is below the industry average. Fabric offcuts are repurposed for scarves, accessories, and packaging materials.
Durable products
The best sustainability decision is one that only needs to be made once. Our products are made to be wearable for years, even decades. We do not produce fast fashion.
Energy use
We use LED lighting and energy-efficient equipment in our workshop. Machines are regularly maintained to keep them running at optimal efficiency.
Packaging
We are transitioning to recyclable and biodegradable packaging materials. Our shipping packaging contains no single-use plastics.
Fair working conditions
Our colleagues receive fair wages and stable employment. We do not use subcontractors — everyone who works on a YarnLee product is a member of our team.

By 2025 we plan to complete the transition to fully recyclable production packaging. By 2026 we will explore the possibility of partially integrating renewable energy into our workshop's power supply.
We do not make unmeasurable marketing promises. What we commit to, we deliver — and we keep our partners transparently informed of our progress.
